Why Music MattersΒ opened at ROAR's Grove Road Garage Gallery on 18 July and brings together artwork, photography, film, sound, and music created through a range of youth music projects across the borough.
The exhibition highlights how music has helped young people build confidence, develop new skills, express themselves creatively and connect with their communities.
Visitors will be able to explore work inspired by projects including Signals Festival, Rotherham Battle of the Bands and Tales Untapped: A Rotherham Opera, alongside personal reflections from the young people involved.
The exhibition follows Rotherham's year as the world's first Children's Capital of Culture and showcases the creativity and talent that has been nurtured through music and cultural opportunities across the borough.

Why Music Matters celebrates the creativity, talent and achievements of young people across Rotherham. The exhibition shows the difference music can make in helping young people grow in confidence, develop new skills and find their voice, while sharing some incredible creative work with the wider public.
The exhibition is free to attend.
